Put on Your Sunday Clothes

Yeah I know its still Saturday! But it doesn't stop me from looking my best any day of the week! Like what the lyrics sung on the song Put on Your Sunday Clothes from the musical Hello Dolly!:

"Put on your Sunday clothes when you feel down and out
Strut down the street and have your picture took
Dressed like a dream your spirits seem to turn about
That Sunday shine is a certain sign
That you feel as fine as you look!"

If you've been following me since Year 1, you guys would probably know that watching classic musical films from the 50's to the 60's is my ultimate guilty pleasure! :D

One of my favorite musicals is the 1969 movie Hello Dolly! Featuring the wonderful Barbara Streisand and the original Phantom from the Phantom of the Opera Mr. Michael Crawford.

Put on Your Sunday Clothes is my favorite act from the movie cause it typically tells you that there's a big world out there and when you're felling sad or unsure, put on your best clothes and show the world that you're confident and nothing can put you down.

Aside from the message of the song, this part of the movie showcases elegant and very classic fashion during the early years where wearing a three piece suit is your normal everyday clothes. Well, without all the technology that we enjoy these days I feel like I was born in the wrong century.

So I take that as my inspiration to pull off this look which is by far one of the most elegant and beautiful look I've done to date. I love the composition and how everything worked so well together in this look.

To achieve this classic look, I started off with the Pork Pie hat I bought online (eBay), put on a nice shirt (Zara) a vest, tweed blazer, chinos and oxford shoes. I spiced it up a bit with my DIY lapel pin (H&M) and pocket square.
