Hello Savoy Suites!

May 06, 2017

If you followed my #Instastory last week, you'd know that it was a crazy weekend!

One of the fun things I did was to do a short staycation at the Savoy Suites Hotel.

We had a short and sweet stay at the hotel which had all the basic needs for a lovely staycation.

We stayed at a Classic Studio room which was very spacious. I would say the rooms are great especially for long staying guests who's here for business.

The room has a large receiving area that is nice if you have some other guests coming in for a visit and the sofa can be converted to an extra bed. There's also a sliding door to separate both the living room and the bedroom area.

What I liked about this room is that it has its own kitchenette complete with a stove, microwave, a fridge and even a washing machine. The toilets are also spacious with enough storage space.

There's a cute pool at the rooftop with those cool sun covers if you don't want to get too burnt from the sun plus another section with a lot of sun beds and seating area.

Other things you need to know:

  • WiFi is complimentary.
  • The hotel is very near the BurJuman Mall and Metro Station.
  • It has a gym and a function area.
  • Surrounding area is quiet.
  • Free parking space is available for all guests.
  • Shuttle bus is available going to the Kite Beach.
  • The entire team are extremely helpful and friendly.

During the entire duration of our stay, we only had Room Service. The food was good with enough portions and the service team were very kind and courteous.

Breakfast though was reasonable. I would have loved to have more options and some of the breakfast dishes needs a little improvement particularly the french toast and sausages. I do believe though that breakfast was designed for people who's busy and always on the go and has only a short period of time to grab a quick bite.

It was a good stay overall and I would like to thank Savoy Suite Dubai for inviting me to stay! It will definitely be one of my options if I need another short fun weekend in Dubai in the future.

Tank and Board Shorts: Pull & Bear
Shoes: Vans

Whew! Last weekend was quite warm! So to cool off, I made sure I wore clothes that were light yet still keep the fun.

I wore a light cotton fabric buttoned shirt with a tank (Pull & Bear) underneath and board shorts (Pull & Bear) for the bottom. I'm starting to like wearing board shorts as part of my casual look this season since its quite comfortable and versatile IMHO and with this weather, its a perfect alternative to the regular non-sweat absorbent shorts as the fabric are basically quick dry. Plus, if you're one of the guys who puts an effort on working out your legs, this is a great opportunity to show them off! lol! 😂

Finishing the look with a cap and fun tropical print shoes (Vans).

I did so many things that weekend I couldn't just squeeze it in, in this blogpost so more stories to come next week!

BTW, my good friend and fellow blogger Kenneth Surat has sent me one of his wonderful hand-crafted notebooks and card cases from his own line of travel journal products called Surat Journals.
