Set the Grill on Fire at Genghis Grill

June 09, 2017

I'm really a sucker with Asian Food. It's one of my weakness and Genghis Grill really set the flames on high!

I love the concept of the restaurant naming it under Genghis Khan, and if you know your history, he's one of the greatest emperors who ever lived in this world. And legend tells us that during his adventures his men grilled their food on their shields under an open flame and used their swords to stir their food.

At Genghis Grill, with real fresh ingredients their so-called "Warriors" cook, sizzle and grill your food into exciting mix of Asian dishes with a spark of century-old tradition way of cooking.

Genghis Grill is located in Al Whada Mall and what I love in this place is that as you enter, you won't even feel that you're inside a mall. It has this very cool lighting fixtures and the design of the place is fun and quirky.

Something I really hate about Asian restaurants in this country is the inclusion of MSG in their dishes. I had one poor experience before in one of the most popular Asian food chains here in UAE where I almost passed out of dizziness because of the amount of MSG they have put in their food.

But with Genghis Grill, I could say that I didn't have that experience at all. The food were all tasty and cooked perfectly and with the amount of food they served us, I felt like I wanted more!

First, lets start with my favorite drink in their menu, the Raspberry Rosemary Soda. Oh I really loved this one! It was supposed to share it, but I decided to have it all for myself! lol! It has this perfect blend of sweetness and sourness and adding rosemary in the mix was really surprising but had an interesting and pleasant twist to it.

From all of the appetisers that they have served, I liked the Sesame Beef Rangoons which is a plate of crispy fried beef wontons topped with toasted sesame seeds serve with sweet soy sauce.

This is by far the best Mongolian Beef in the city I have ever tasted! It wasn't too salty and the blend of each flavours and ingredients were perfectly executed.

For dessert, my favorite was the Nutella & Pretzel Crispy Wontons! If I didn't have to share it, I would have finished this plate on my own! I loved that it was served with a generous amount of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce drizzle.

Other dishes you should try are: ALL their Legendary Hand Rolled Dim Sum, Bang Bang Prawns, Gen Tso's Chiken, Kinchi Fried Rice, Mushroom Fried Rice Hakka Noodles, Banana and Butterscotch Cheesecake.

Other thing to note is that they also serve Ramen and you can even create your own Stir Fried Bowl!

Here's a special Iftar treat! Experience a 3 Course Asian Set Menu at Genghis Grill for only AED85 per person this Ramadan starting from sunset to 9PM.

What are you waiting for? Get your dining weapons ready for a battle feast at Genghis Grill!

Always have fun!
